QUANTUM improvisation strategies
The principles of Quantum movement composition, is a methodology that Armati start to develop in 2011 based on isolation, instant composition, awareness of the body and possibility to fluently compose live movement in a flow. After his studies of Laban in Laban Centre in Lodnon, he studied improvisation strategies of main choreographers such as Merce Cunningham, William Forsythe and Thomas Hauert). This pedagogical approach learns to free from movement habits and give new information to compose new movement combinations in a flow. Once learned this basically physical principles, dancers work on a mental level playing with established concepts of time and space.
Quantum explores concepts of time and space inspired from quantum physics theories. The challenge for us is to try to produce a new kind of plasticity of movement, expanding the classical idea of reality. Contemporary scientifc theories decode our experiences, as we learnt from history, and also infuence our perception (Descartes, Galileo, Newton, Einstein - just to name few scientist that change our understanding of reality). By questioning our classical perception of reality, we try to develop new ways of moving.
